Christina Vad and Catherine Coley met in 2017 when they became co-workers. They quickly became great friends and have shared many ups and downs in their lives throughout the last five years. As the years passed, they realized that they would rock at running their own company and started looking into creating a non-profit to advocate for the elderly. In honor of Guy Chiarolanza, the Cafe's namesake and Christina's late father, Twin Hearts, Inc. mission is to provide mindful, specialized and affordable elder care and advocacy for families and loved ones. Whilst in the process of starting up the non-profit they found out that one of their favorite cafe's was about to be put on the market. They jumped on the opportunity with the idea in mind that Twin Hearts, Inc. and Lanza's Café would make a great combination and serve even more of their hearts goals. We are so excited to build Lanza's Café into an amazing place to gather that brings light and love to all of our patrons. Through this space we can create many things and help our elderly community and care givers be provided with the support and care that they deserve.

Guy Louis Chiarolanza, aka Gumba was Born in Batavia, NY to Frank and Kathleen Chiarolanza.
After high school he Served in the Air Force from 1959 - 1964. A hard working man, Guy worked his way from repossessing cars up to VP of Marine Midland Bank. In 1977, his wife MaryEllen and he decided they wanted to go into the Resturant business and purchased the Walsh Hotel, in Medina NY. Guy owned and operated the Hotel for 40 years providing many community members with a place to come together and for some, a place to start fresh. He employed many that needed work and never met a stranger. From the homemade pizzas he'd put out on the bar at Christmas to lending help to those in need, Guy provided the community with many blessings. He was a father figure to many with his kind patient heart and generous spirit.
Dad especially enjoyed a well made Perfect Manhattan on the rocks, fly fishing, cooking, golf, a friendly game of poker and sharing time with family and friends alike. He loved his red wine and Italian food too! He had great wit and humor and even during his failing health he would never pass up a chance to crack a joke. He never gave up, always putting one foot in front of the other while trying to see the best in each day. Rarely did he complain and even when he did he'd find a way to sprinkle some humor on top. This was not an easy task given the challenges he faced.
He taught me to never judge a book by it's cover, to work hard and be honest and to help people whenever possible. In honor of him we hope to help care givers and families support their loved ones, to support our communities through collaboration, conversation, love, healing and hope. Times are challenging right now and we need to come together to bridge gaps, gain knowledge and understanding of one another and to create a better place for all. Supporting the elderly, sick and underprivileged amongst us is part of our Mission at Lanza's and Twin Hearts. We hope you'll join us on our journey as we believe that we are ALL here to grow and learn, to be better, and do better with each passing day. Thank you for your support, for reading our story, and hopefully sharing our vision.
